BIDE provides a platform for networking and exchange for dancers, choreographers and performers. This unique event offers a space to meet and work together to find new inspirations and collaborations for artistic work. The focus of BIDE is on performing, researching and teaching. Participants should have professional experience and a strong interest in one of these fields.
During BIDE, we will work in study labs; participants are free to choose each day the lab they are most interested in working in.
The aim of BIDE is to offer a structure that supports creative work to happen, gives a possibility for finding future collaborations and share information in a non-hierarchic way. BIDE aims to support the sharing of information and experience as well as the methods to do so - thus, we emphasize a curious attitude towards working in laboratories and finding ways to develop such collaboration structures.
For the 2011 exchange, BIDE will gather a group of 40 artists of different cultures and backgrounds with the common interest in developing, researching and experimenting in dance. We will offer a structure to support a generous atmosphere for people to meet and share, do try-outs, exchange and show their work to each other and also to the open public in Barcelona.
BIDE welcomes only professional artists, with a limited space for students in the field of contemporary dance. There is also a limited possibility for scholarships through are partners.
