B.I.D.E.

A laboratory (lab) is a platform where all participants can bring in ideas related to the theme of the laboratory, and engage themselves in the exploration process. In BIDE, the idea of a lab is to support focusing to a question or theme related to dance. Each lab group will have a facilitator, but his/her role is not to teach ­ a lab is not a class, it is a horizontal exchange of knowledge.

The facilitators will make sure to keep time, provide a structure and encourage people to contribute their own ideas and find their own answers in the process. The structure will allow participants to have time to explore and, in the end, share their discoveries with the rest of the group.

To structure the labs, we propose different starting points and approaches to offer the working sessions throughout BIDE. The first laboratories during BIDE will be facilitated by participants experienced in this method, and in the following days there will be space for those who are interested to facilitate a lab.
