BIDE offers one-week long artist’s residencies for the participants of the annual event. Applications to the residencies are made during the event, and the artists are chosen by the organizers of BIDE. Three artists are chosen to each residence.
In 2010, BIDE hosted two residences; one in tragantDansa (June 26th – July 2nd, 2010) and one in La Caldera, Barcelona (October 9-15th, 2010). In 2011, BIDE hosted three residencies; one in tragantDansa and one in AREA (both happening June 23- July 1st, 2011) and one in La Caldera (July 15th - 22nd, 2011). In 2012, BIDE will host 2-3 residenices.
The artists in residence are free to work with themes they are interested in to research and develop together. The one-week residence time ends with a public performance. The schedules of working and performing are set by the venues.
BIDE offers residencies in collaboration with its partners in order to continue and develop the exchange and research taking place in BIDE. BIDE supports foreign artists with helping to find accommodation but does not cover per diems or travel costs. |
